Connect OpenAI organization costs

Create and connect an Admin key

1. Sign into the OpenAI platform as an organization owner. Open organization Settings and Admin keys.
2. Create an Admin key and copy it securely. A regular project API key cannot access the organization cost report.
3. In your own Tallypane installation, open Settings → Accounts → Add account → OpenAI. Name the account and paste the Admin key. The app checks access before saving it.
4. Choose the offered history range and start the import. Keep keys out of the public demo, URLs and support messages.

Coverage and revocation

The connector reads organization costs by line item. It does not allocate these costs by project or infer model spend from billing line items. Provider adjustments can arrive later. Missing or provisional days should not be read as zero.

The app uses this key for cost reads, but an Admin key can authorize broader operations. Revoke it in OpenAI’s Admin keys settings when no longer needed; replace the saved credential in Tallypane when rotating.
